In No impact man a man try's to live without TV, computers, toliet paper and other necessitys for a year. Also he only purchased food from farmers and not take the train or bus to travel and could only eat fruits and vegetables. Because they couldn't use the trains they used walking and scooters and other types of transportain. Also he had all of his food stored in a box instead of a refrigerator and used the local faemers market for food.
By not using cars or trains or buses he saves the air from the gases that get released into it the atmosphere from car fuel. Also from not eat meat or at public resturants he saves the thousands of animals that get killed everyday. From not using TV's or computers he saved tons of elecrity he also did this from using different type of light bulbs. Also he didn't use toliet paper which saved which saved a lot of trees.
I was very suprised to see how he would survive without a lot of stuff we abbuse today like TV computers, food and toliet paper. I personally wouldn't be able to live without toliet paper so I was very suprised he did it for a year. Also I thought it would be kinda hard to give up meat and only eat vegetarian. Most of all I was disterebed how they let worms eat all of their trash I was thinking what does that do for the enviroment. The thing I think it would be easyest to live without is a TV because you can always find something else to do.

Lesson 10: Fruit Flies DYO
This week in science we got new spiders to put in new spiders in our container and put some flightless fruit flies for it to eat. We also split into groups and started on DYO's for the fruit flie investigation/ problem. We also set up files and graphs to help show the fruit flie problem also we recorded data on a loose leaf. We also created a hypothesis for the fruit flie problem with the if....then.....and because format. We also made bar graphs to caculate the number of A's students get in a class every month and first made a table to make for the graph.
I learned that centipedes can kill spiders if left in the container can kill everything in it like a spider or beetle. I also learned that when two daddy long leg spiders are in a enviroment they either kill each other or the biggest one each the food while the other dies of hunger. I also learned to eat its prey the spider wraps its web around it and begins to sucks its blood. Also that centipedes kill their prey the same way but they wrap themselfs around their prey and squeezes them and drink their fluids.

Post # 9 - This week in science (fruit flies part 2)
This week in science got our spiders and we did the chart with the flies where if there were three flies in a container how many would there be in three weeks?. we got flies on our container and solved the hypothesis. we drew our answer on a big piece of loose leaf and listed facts of how the answer is what it is. We did everything in in groups and we picked two males and one female and put them in a vial and observed them.
This week in science I learned that one fruit flie has 20 babies a day and after about day 16 those babies begin to hatch and make more babies. I also learned as the babies hatch the number of adults will increses by 20. Also I learned the different results you get depending on the number of males and females in the container. I also learned that from far away its hard to tell if a fruit flie is a guy or girl because you can't really see their brissle

Lesson 7: This Week in Science Ecosystems
This week in science we did test corrections on the exam we took and explained why they were wrong and how it relates to our spider habitat. We also made designs on how our spider habitats would be designed after we got our materials. Also went on a field trip to a garden to collect supplies for our spider habitat mostly dirt and rocks. After that then we made maps about our habitat and the different things that live inside it and we also researched different animals in our habitat.
I learned that a slug is another snail for a snail and that a snail and a slug are in the same family also that slugs are very small. I also learned that centipedes has posion sacks that sacks that they use to kill their prey and that centipedes suck up the blood of their prey. I have also learned farmers hate slugs because they eat their vegtables. I also learned after a while our tank started getting wet around the side and that the worms refuse to reveal themselfs.
